The neckline is a gathered scoop-square — the fabric is shirred and gathered along a softly rounded square opening, with a narrow self-fabric drawstring that ties into a small delicate bow at center front, letting you adjust how open or covered the neckline sits. The flutter sleeves are short and relaxed, gathered at the seam with an easy flutter that moves with you rather than sitting stiff at the shoulder. The wide smocked elastic waistband — several rows of horizontal gathered shirring — is the structural centerpiece of the dress: it pulls the waist in dramatically, creates a defined silhouette, and gives with every breath and movement. The full A-line midi skirt falls from the smocked waist to mid-calf at 48” from shoulder to hem, with generous volume and a fluid drape. Side seam pockets sit cleanly within the gingham.
